Ok now to the activities for the big day! Well our anniversary fell on a weekday which is really hard for us due to Bobby's rotations and my school. So we decided to just do a little thing on Thursday and celebrate for real on Saturday. Thursday came, and it was really any normal day during the day, I was just excited to see Bobby when he got home obviously. So I am at home with Kate waiting for Bobby to get home from the hospital when someone knocks on the door. Thinking it was our neighbor I casually open the door to find these!
In our entire marriage I have never gotten flowers like this! It actually took me back for a second and Kate comes running out yelling "flowers, flowers!" while standing on her tippy toes and smelling them. Yes they were taller than Kate! Bobby walked up a few minutes later with a huge smile on his face, I just loved them and he knew it.
After that wonderful surprise we exchanged our gifts which were great! We had a little bit smaller budget this year in gifts to save up for our trip to Florida and Disney World (so excited!) so the gifts were perfect. After our gift exchange, we decided that since we were going to be spending money on Saturday it would be best to just play it low key and eat in. I didn't mind at all, it saved a little money and all that I needed to be happy was right in the room with me, Bobby and Kate. After that we went to watch Bobby play in his basketball game, both Kate and I love to watch him play so that was a lot of fun. So it was a really good and low key night, leaving me even more excited for the surprise awaiting me on Saturday.
Saturday came and we went to a movie in the morning called Cowboys and Aliens, it had a lot of good actors in it and a great director so we were excited. Plus we love a good action movie. Well we weren't disappointed! It was a great movie! A lot of great action scenes and I thought Daniel Craig was a great cowboy in it and of course I always love a movie with Harrison Ford. So a perfect start to our anniversary day! After that we dropped Kate off at our AWESOME friends Nate and Chelsea's house (thanks again guys!) to watch her for a few hours while we went to dinner at a surprise restaurant. Bobby took me to The Melting Pot, I have always wanted to go there! It was so fun to make a meal with fondue! I was really surprised how long it took though, we got there at 6:45 and didn't get out until after 9! Crazy I know! But it was such a relaxing dinner where we could just talk and enjoy the company, it feels like it has been so long since we had such a relaxing date like that, as they are usually pretty fast, so it was wonderful to just enjoy every minute with my hubby. Plus the food was really good, but the best part was easily the dessert! Oh my goodness I would go back just to eat their desserts! I'm talking cheese cake bites, rice crispy treats, brownies, marsh mellows, strawberries, bananas etc. with a cookies and cream chocolate fondue with Oreo chunks. It was Absolutely delicious! After dinner we went to pick Kate up, who was very hesitant to go as she was having so much fun with Nate and Chelsea! We walk her to find her showing off her dance moves to the music in the movie Rio completely oblivious that her parents walked in. So after much coaxing, we finally got her out by 10. So there is our 6th anniversary, it was so wonderful, every minute of it! Like I said, it's amazing how much love can grow... Happy Anniversary sweetie, Love you.
So happy we could be part of your special celebration! :) Congrats!
